New Year’s Active & Healthy Challenge

What’s your healthy New Year’s resolution?

Did you ‘overindulge’ a little this holiday season? Don’t panic – the New Year is a great time to make a resolution to be more active and healthy!

We’d like to hear your New Year’s resolution – tell us just one thing you’d like to do or achieve this year. We’ll then check in with you during the year to see how you’re going, and there’ll be prizes for people who manage to stick with their resolution and make a difference in their lives.

As we all know, it’s one thing to make a resolution, but another to keep it. So, come up with something that you think you’ll be able to keep doing or achieve – the trick is to choose something that’s a challenge, but not too hard.

For example, do you want to eat more of some kinds of foods? Or do you want to eat some foods less often? Do you want to exercise more? Is there a health or fitness class you’ve thought about joining, or a sport you’d like to try out?

Add your resolution below, send us your ideas and plans to info@activekyogle.org.au, or call us on (02) 6632 1833.

I have my first sponsor. Darren has pledged $100 if I can successfully complete Alcohol Free February. If others are thinking of pledging, all money goes to charity and don’t feel you have to be so generous. Every little bit helps.

    Hi everyone,

Happy new year. I have got two New Years resolutions – number one, exercise every second day, walking or mowing, and my big one is to stop eating CHOCOLATE … anything with chocolate in it for at least 6 months – HARD but I can do it!

    Good luck everyone, Meralee

I plan on trying to swim for half an hour at least three days a week during the pool season. I have to learn to work around my asthma to do this but I love to swim. I know it will be challenging both physically and because I’m time-poor these days. However, I’m hoping that going public with this NYR will give me the impetus to get started and I’ll have the support to keep going.

I am going to participate in Alcohol free February. I thought I might gather sponsors and any money raised would go to a local charity such as the Northern Rivers Animal Service. As I like a drink and my partner and friends all drink, this will actually be quite a difficult challenge. Any one wishing to sponsor me can contact me on glenys@activekyogle.org.au or phone 6632 1833.
